carbonhouse, inc., the leader in digital marketing for sports, hospitality and entertainment, is helping venue websites easily partner with the popular world of social networking by integrating Facebook Connect right to their site. Utilizing the booming world of Facebook will allow venues the ability to automatically connect their events to millions of additional fans, send venue alerts to Facebook users and see other friends who will be attending the same event. In turn providing venues with additional marketing resources to sell more tickets. James Sack, carbonhouse Partner and Creative Director, “carbonhouse has added the option of Facebook Connect for our clients and is administered within carbonhouse’s greenhouse content management system for all events. As an administrator for your site, you will not need to learn or use another interface to enable your events to be shared on Facebook. Adding an event through greenhouse will automatically populate your site, as well as your company’s Facebook page. One quick step to reach millions of users.”
Statistics published on Facebook.com show more than 150 million active users and more than 3 billion minutes are spent on Facebook each day (worldwide) with the fastest growing demographic being 30 years and older. The average user has 100 friends on the site and more than 20 million pieces of content (web links, news stories, blog posts, notes, photos, etc.) are shared each month. <http://www.facebook.com/press/info.php?statistics>

carbonhouse knows during these tough times there are those out there that are in extra need of support. carbonhouse has partnered with two local charitable organizations that we are passionate about, Stocks for Tots and Second String Santa. If you’re looking for ways to help others this holiday season please take a moment to visit their sites.
Stocks For Tots was created as a way to bring together stock car racing and its fans, while raising awareness of the child abuse problem in North Carolina. The idea was to collect toys and raise money during a festive, family-oriented holiday event. Organizer John Maloney, “One of the cornerstone’s for Stocks For Tots was Don Miller winning the inaugural NASCAR/Home Depot Humanitarian Award in 2007 which gave $100,000 to Stop Child Abuse Now in NC & a new Kaboom Playground.) Stocks-for-Tots celebrated its 20 year anniversary and continues along with Stop Child Abuse Now to help thousands of children, families, and parents in NC.” www.stocksfortots.com
Second String Santa is one of Charlotte’s largest social holiday parties! The mission is to deliver holiday gifts to children in the Charlotte community. “We celebrated our 20th Anniversary of the Second String Santa holiday party Tuesday, December 2 at the TimeWarner Cable Arena. This was a record year for us as we raised over $61,000 and collected 2,790 toys for needy children in the Charlotte area. Our website has helped us promote our charity and events to the Charlotte community,” Jackie Savage, 2008 Second String Santa Co-Chair. www.secondstringsanta.org

There’s not a bad seat in the house!
Brandon Lucas, Partner and Business Director
Made the trek down to Alpharetta/Atlanta a couple weekends ago to meet up with some old friends and visit a client venue of ours, Verizon Wireless Amphitheatre at Encore Park.
I’ve been to a lot of amphitheaters over the years (for business and pleasure) and to be quite honest I was expecting more of the same. And then I got there. My reaction was….THIS is what an outdoor amphitheatre should be and feel like.

Jeffrey Brown, Writer and artist
As a creative design firm, we find inspiration from other creatives. The weekend of June 20-22, the Heroes convention took place in Uptown Charlotte. The Convention was started in 1982 by the gang at Heroes Aren’t Hard To Find —one of the premier comics specialty shops in the country.
Most of carbonhouse attended the show at some point–as well as many other creatives from around town (Shoutouts to Studiobanks and Marty Kelso).
There were many great guests this year, but what always stands out for me is the Top Shelf Productions‘ booth. They publish outstanding, contemporary graphic novels by some dedicated artists. Read the rest of this entry »
